Scott Haney, LUTCF®
Vice President, Client Services
Scott’s first job was taking over the weekend deliveries for his older brother Brian’s Washington Post newspaper route at the age of 9. Eventually taking over the route full time and parlaying it into a scholarship he took with him to college.
Scott started his professional career in television and film production. He began filming for and touring with bands as a videographer in high school, a passion he continued to pursue on nights and weekends while earning his double major at Indiana University. After graduating, he moved to Atlanta where he established his own video production company. Along the way he toured internationally with rock bands, directed numerous music videos and DVDS, and produced an award-winning documentary that followed the rescue and rehabilitation of Michael Vick’s pit bulls before transitioning into corporate productions for several large financial and utility companies.
It was quite the pivot when he accepted his brother’s invitation to return to the DC area to work together again, this time with their father in a new venture, The Haney Company. Scott is an all-lines insurance broker, has earned his Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF®) Designation, and sits on the Independent Insurance Agents of Maryland Young Agents Committee.
Scott resides in Olney, Maryland with his wife and daughter where he volunteers at House with a Heart, a senior animal sanctuary.
